Vladimir Putin, to the disagreement of many in his country, planning to continue his stint as president of Russia even after 2008 when his last term ends.
Experts in Russia say that Putin and his associates are planning several steps to be taken to ensure his uninterrupted stint. These include, as the experts say, to set up fake parties to participate in the presidential election.
Sociologist and expert on Putin Ms. Olga Khrystanovskaya said that the system that Putin is planning resemblances that of Soviet era. According to her the successor of Putin won’t have much power, actually, since the distribution of power will be such between the presidency, the prime minister’s office and the parliament.
It has been alleged that all the important people during Boris Yeltsin’s time has either been jailed or made to leave the country. With this situation it’s the Putin’s associates who control major section of media and strategic gas and oil sector.
Thus, armed with propaganda machinery Putin is trying his utmost to continue the uninterrupted reign.
